Temple

The people of the Upper Manang Valley are mainly of Tibetan origin. For them, Tibetan Buddhism is more than a religion – it is the very heart of their way of life. As there is no other social infrastructure, the replacement of the derelict temple would mean an important new focus for their lives.

This will be a challenging task as the site of the old building is threatened by a landslide. Also, every bit of building material has to be carried there by foot taking many days or flown in by helicopter.
