Himalaya Karuna Deutschland e.V.

Welcome to our homepage!
We are pleased to introduce you to our association and to familiarize you with our work and our goals.
Best regards & Tashi Delek!

Our association supports the charitable activities of Acharya Lama Sönam Rabgye, who originates from Upper Manang in northern Nepal. Thanks to his direct contacts, we can be sure that all donations reache the people directly.
Our association has set itself the goal of supporting people who are in need - especially in the Himalayan region of Nepal, Tibet and northern India. This includes children, orphans, elderly, and people in need. Another point is the promotion of Tibetan Buddhist culture in the region. The aim is to support young monks and nuns in need, e.g. during their training, or old and destitute monks and nuns who no longer have means of subsistence. This furthermore includes the promotion of Tibetan Buddhist culture in general, e.g. by rebuilding monasteries that have been destroyed or are in need of restoration, especially in the Buddhist Himalayan regions.

If you would like to support our goals, we would be delighted to have your help. Naturally, we are also happy to receive any donation - regardless of the amount! Further information on donations and membership can be found here.

Upper Manang

Upper Manang lies at an altitude of 3.500 m and north of the Annapurna Himal, a remote mountain region in the north of Nepal, where an unadulterated and deeply religious culture has been preserved to this day. Even if romantic travel reports compare the remote valley with paradise, everyday life for the people living there is very hard due to the external conditions and the extreme altitude. Situated on one of the ascents to the Annapurna massif, some people have benefited from trekking tourism to a modest extent in recent years - but mainly in the lower part of the valley. The people in the upper valley and the monastery there hardly benefit from this due to their isolated location. Upper Manang is the starting point for the projects of our association Himalaya Karuna Deutschland e.V. due to the personal connection of Lama Sönam Rabgye, who was born and grew up there.
